MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Former Country Crossing casino lobbyist Jarrod Massey has volunteered to go to prison next week to begin serving a prison sentence after pleading guilty to bribery and conspiracy in Alabama's gambling corruption investigation.

Massey isn't scheduled for sentencing until Sept.

26. But his attorneys told a federal judge Friday that he is certain he will get a prison sentence and he wants to get started serving his time. U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson agreed and ordered him to report to the federal courthouse in Montgomery by 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Massey pleaded guilty last month to offering bribes to legislators to vote for pro-gambling legislation and he agreed to cooperate with federal prosecutors.
