A temporary casino is to open on the first two floors of the

Higbee Building while the permanent complex is being constructed between Huron Road and the Cuyahoga River.

The temporary casino could open in less than a year, the permanent one in 2013.

The Higbee casino is expected to attract 5 million visitors a year. It's likely to have about 1,600 employees, and backers contend 95% will be from northeast Ohio. Sources say there will be 2,000 slots, several dozen gaming tables, a 400 seat restaurant, and two bars.

The casino will be run by 35 year old Marcus Glover of Caesars entertainment.

Also today, Governor John Kasich speaks at the Greater Cleveland Partnership luncheon, also in the Higbee Building.
