CHILOCCO — A Las Vegas-based casino management firm has sued the Tonkawa Tribe of Oklahoma after a tribal gaming commission ousted Native Lights Casino managers from the casino.

Gaughan Gaming helped the Tonkawa Tribe start up operations at Native Lights Casino — located just south of Chilocco, between Newkirk and Arkansas City — after the
National Indian Gaming Commission shut down the tribe's gaming operation in 2006, according to a Tulsa lawyer representing Gaughan Gaming.

The gaming company filed suit Tuesday in Kay County District Court. The suit seeks a temporary injunction against the Tonkawa Tribe and Tonkawa Tribal Gaming Commission.

A hearing on the case is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Kay County District Court.

District Court Judge Philip Ross will preside, according to the court clerk.
