The USA is being gripped by moves to legalize online poker gaming. This exciting transition in the way gaming is being conducted will see the world famous
PokerStars teaming up with Wynn Resorts to lobby for regulation of the US online gaming market. These are exciting times for Las Vegas and especially for the online poker market.

What has Steve Wynn Got in Store?

The news coming directly out of Las Vegas is that casino mogul Steve Wynn and his famed Wynn Resorts Ltd have partnered with PokerStars to push for the legalization and running of an Internet Poker operation in the USA.

This news comes hot on the heels of efforts by Caesars Palace teaming up with 888 Holdings in Gibraltar and New Jersey's moves to try to push a bill into law with Governor Christie. While the latter action has been quashed for now, there is still significant impetus to get it signed into law.

Wynn Resorts Ltd has formed a strategic alliance with PokerStars to bring online poker into the mainstream. As it stands, the online gaming industry takes around $25 billion a year - with almost 20% of this tally coming from USA players. Online poker remains the most popular component of the gaming market.

Steve Wynn's Take on Regulation

The casino tycoon believes that the only way to go forward with online gaming is to regulate it. That way the billions of dollars in taxable revenue will accrue to USA coffers. This will not only boost tax potential and create thousands of jobs, it will help to stimulate a much-needed economic recovery within the USA.

Licensing and renewal fees for online poker gaming operators would guarantee a thriving industry and full compliance with the law. PokerStars for their part are keen to get the ball rolling and Carson City is a case in point. The signs are certainly looking good between land-based casino operators in NJ and Nevada with online gaming operators, but it's up to the bureaucrats in office to sign these bills into law.
