A Rapid City casino was robbed at knifepoint late Friday night - for the second time in six months.

Jokers Casino, at 1320 Mount Rushmore Road, had an undisclosed amount of cash taken by a male suspect at around 11 p.m. Friday.

That casino was one of three to be robbed last November in a string of casino robberies.

Three men have pled guilty to their roles in that spree.

The suspect in Friday night's robbery is a Native American male, around 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and weighing about 250 pounds.

Corey McLaughlin, the manager of Jokers Casino, said there was a second person involved who waited outside during the robbery.

No one was injured in the Friday robbery. The store's clerk handed over the money when threatened. McLaughlin said there were four customers in Jokers Casino at the time.

McLaughlin said he's sick of the robberies.

"It makes me nervous, especially for my employees and my customers," McLaughlin said. "I'm kind of getting tired of it, that my employees have to be threatened on the job and my customers have to be worried about someone coming in and (brandishing) a knife."

McLaughlin said he's worried repeated robbery attempts could drive away business. The casino is considering taking steps to increase security.

Sgt. Mark Eisenbraun of the Rapid City Police Department said he believes this is the first casino robbery Rapid City has seen since the November string.

One of the three people arrested for the November robberies, 23-year-old Joshua Bourne, was sentenced last week to consecutive 20-year prison sentences for his part in the robberies. The other two, Daniel Gillen, 50, and Brian Walker, 30, have both pled guilty and are awaiting sentencing.
