New figures show revenue at Atlantic City's 11 casinos fell by 6.7 percent in March, as the decline in the nation's second-largest gambling market appeared to be lessening.
It was the second straight month that the decline was measured in single digits, which passes for progress in a resort battered
The casinos won $280.5 million. Slot machine revenue fell 5.3 percent, to $196.3 million. Table games revenue decreased by 9.9 percent, to $84.2 million.
Two of the 11 casinos posted revenue increases, led by Resorts Casino Hotel, which was up 11.6 percent. But a good deal of that is due to the poor performance of the casino a year ago, not long after its owners turned over the keys to their lenders.
