Thieves infiltrated the Crown hotel and casino's surveillance system to pull off a $32 million sting.

Australia's largest casino has been scammed out of a reported $32 million in an "Ocean's Eleven"-style heist, according to reports.

A high-rolling gambler from overseas who was staying at the Crown Towers in the state of Victoria was involved in the heist, which involved the hijacking of the casino's security system, the Herald Sun newspaper reported.

Sources said an accomplice of the gambler was able to get control of the casino's security cameras and watch as the man gambled in a private VIP area.

The card player received tips on how to wager and fleeced the casino of millions over just eight hands of cards, the Herald Sun reported.

Casino officials discovered the scam in the middle of the night, and the high-roller was tossed from his deluxe villa, where he was staying with his family.

He received lifetime ban from the casino, the newspaper said. The VIP services manager assigned to handle his visits was also fired.

The casino said it expected to recoup most of the money.
