Anne Arundel County police are looking for a man they say robbed one woman and unsuccessfully attempted to rob an elderly woman at the Maryland Live Casino on Sunday.

A 71-year-old woman told police she was getting into an elevator about 7:45 a.m. at the casino, at 7002 Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover, when a man in his 20s tried to take her purse at knifepoint. He was unable to steal her purse and ran away, police said, and the woman was not injured.

Police then learned of a robbery of a 35-year-old woman by a suspect matching the same description, though no time was given for the incident. In that case, the woman was sitting in her car in the parking garage when the man opened the car door and demanded money at knifepoint, police said. She was also uninjured, but the suspect made off with an unknown amount of cash, police said.
