Anne Arundel County police arrested a Bowie man Monday in connection with the robbery of one woman and attempted robbery of another at Maryland Live Casino on Sunday.

Police said Paul Johann Morin, 32, was charged with armed robbery, robbery, second-degree assault and other charges. Police say he tried to take a 71-year-old woman's purse at knifepoint as she got into an elevator, but was unsuccessful.

Later, another woman, 35, was sitting in her car in the parking garage at the casino, at 7002 Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover, when, police say, the suspect opened her car door and stole an unknown amount of money at knifepoint. Neither woman was injured.

Police identified Morin through the casino's surveillance video, "alert witnesses" and casino security. Morin was being held in the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on Tuesday, and no lawyer was listed for him in court records.
