The Atlantic City hotel scene offers a wealth of options for vacationers. But when one of those options is the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, does it even need to? Consider the Borgata’s advantages:

Say you have a friend who’s hungry. Really hungry. “Openly hopes that a hot dog stand materializes in the middle of the casino because he is that desperate for any sustenance” hungry. So hungry that he’s entering a state of mental desperation you’ve never seen out of him in the entire time you’ve been friends, which is over a decade at this point.

Take that friend to, say, Izakaya, ideally with a big group so you can have him sample from this menu. Inform him, after several plates of top-notch modern Japanese fare including a spicy tuna cracker and shrimp tempura roll, that you’re still only on the second course. The desperation you saw earlier will be replaced by a euphoria he maybe, maybe only eclipsed when the Giants won the Super Bowl in 2008. That’s the power one restaurant can have… but the Borgata has much more than one restaurant.

To experience most casinos, you have to, well, go to the casino. That’s true of the Borgata in many ways. See the item above, for one: good luck replicating Izakaya’s menu at home.
