Arrest made in casino garage robbery

A Prince George's County man has been charged in an armed robbery that occurred early Saturday morning in the parking garage at the Maryland Live casino in Hanover.

A man told Anne Arundel County police he and a woman were sitting in a vehicle in the garage shortly before 7 a.m. when they were robbed by a man with what they believed was a semi-automatic black handgun.

Police detectives got a tip early Sunday morning from an anonymous caller who said they knew where the robber's vehicle was parked.

Detectives went to District Heights and staked out the car, a black Nissan Altima in a driveway, partially covered, according to police.

When the Altima and another vehicle drove away, police pulled over both vehicles. Police said they found a person in the second vehicle believed to be part of the robbery. Police said that he told them where to find the pellet gun used in the robbery.

Police charged Errick Maurice Lewis, 48, of the 4100 block of Silver Park Terrace in Temple Heights with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of robbery, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of theft and using a firearm during a felony.

Lewis is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center in Annapolis on $200,000 bond. No attorney for Lewis was listed on online court records.
