MT. PLEASANT, MI – Two Jackson-area teens are being held at the Isabella County Jail on armed robbery charges after allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint at Soaring Eagle Casino in Mount Pleasant.

A 19-year-old Clark Lake woman is accused of robbing a 23-year-old man she had gone to the casino with after the man had won a large sum of money, according to a report from The Morning Sun.

The report said the woman called a 19-year-old Jackson man and asked him to drive her car to the casino from Jackson to rob the man she was there with. A 15-year-old went with the Jackson man to the casino but shot himself in the leg with a .38-caliber handgun before the teens could carry out the robbery, according the report.

The man and woman dropped the juvenile off at the hospital for treatment and returned to the casino where they threatened the 23-year-old victim with a gun and stole his winnings in the early morning hours of Nov. 8, according to the report. The juvenile was treated and released for his injuries.

Samantha Wynn, 19, was arraigned on a charge of armed robbery in Isabella County Trial Court on Monday, Nov. 10. Her bail was set at $600,000, according to court documents.

Taj Mack Shackleford, 19, faces several weapons charges and a charge of attempted armed robbery for the incident. His bond was set at $1 million during his arraignment in Isabella County Trial Court on Monday.

Wynn pleaded guilty to charges of assault and battery and third-degree retail fraud in Jackson County District Court on Nov. 5. She was also convicted of receiving and concealing less than $1,000 in 2012 and was sentenced to one year in jail and one year probation, according to Jackson County District Court records.

Shackleford pleaded guilty to a felony charge of distributing counterfeit currency in Jackson County Circuit Court in 2013, according to court documents. 

According to The Morning Sun report, both teens denied involvement in the robbery.

Probable cause hearings for Wynn and Schakleford are scheduled for 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in front of Isabella County Trial Judge Eric Janes.
