JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Coast Guard has shut down the Victory Casino Cruise that runs out of Mayport until safety violations inspectors found on the boat are fixed.

A Coast Guard spokesperson confirmed they learned about problems aboard "Victory II" through an anonymous tip.

They boarded the boat last Thursday and, after an inspection, determined the vessel could not transport passengers until those safety violations were fixed.

On Monday, the Coast Guard was not able to provide any additional information about the nature of the safety violations aboard the 229-foot ship.

Victory Casino Cruises acknowledges the ship will not resume its normal operating schedule until Friday, May 29th on its website.

The company told First Coast News it was not able to release further information on why the ship had been temporarily closed. The ship Victory II was launched out of Mayport in June 2014. It can accommodate more than 600 passengers.
