A second man has been charged in a scheme to follow Maryland Live Casino patrons home and rob them at gunpoint of their winnings and other possessions, federal prosecutors said.

Jose Hector Leguere, also known as Naheem Leguere, and Willie Hernandez Fleming followed and robbed nine people between Oct. 27 and Nov. 11, 2013, according to a federal indictment unsealed Thursday.

The two drove a borrowed Nissan Altima to the Anne Arundel County casino, where they watched gamblers and identified targets who won money, the U.S. Attorney's Office in Maryland said.

In one heist on Oct. 27, they followed three women to a home in Annandale, Va., where they robbed them of $6,800 in cash, cellphones, credit cards and passports, prosecutors said.

In another on Nov. 1, prosecutors said, they took a Coach purse and wallet, a cellphone, a $1,000 check and $780 in cash from two victims whom the men had followed to Elkridge.

The two are accused of two more robberies on the night of Nov. 9 and early hours of the following morning, prosecutors said.

They followed four patrons to a home in Silver Spring at about 9:13 p.m., and robbed them of two purses, a North Face jacket, credit cards and a cellphone, prosecutors said.

Then, the men returned to Maryland Live, where they targeted two Virginia women and followed them at about 12:22 a.m. to the Hillendale Shopping Center in Silver Spring, where they took purses, jewelry, credit cards, keys and about $1,000 in cash at gunpoint, prosecutors said.

Leguere faces nine counts, including robbery and gun charges. The office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of Maryland, which is representing him, declined to comment.

The other man, Fleming, was arrested in Baltimore the morning after the last robbery, and pleaded guilty in all of the above incidents. He was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

No attorney was listed for Fleming.
