COLUMBUS, Ohio - Several former employees of Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati have been accused of cheating the casino out of a total of more than $121,000, the Ohio Casino Control Commission said Friday.

A release from the commission gave this account of one case: Andrew Grzelewski, a table games supervisor at the casino, would place a predetermined sequence of cards into a deck at a mini baccarat table. He would then signal an accomplice - Thomas Coffee, a former dealer at the casino – when the altered deck was ready.  Coffee would then place wagers on the game, knowing the outcome of the hand before it was dealt.

Commission gaming agents became aware of the scam in 2014. The casino lost more than $25,000. Coffee implicated his mother, Susan Coffee, and Lando Camp, as accomplices, the release from the commission states.

Grzelewski and Thomas Coffee were each indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury on two felony gaming charges. Susan Coffee and Lando Camp were each indicted on a one count of cheating at a casino game.

The grand jury also indicted casino craps dealer Gemini Isham and gambler Keith Washington on three gaming charges each.

The commission reported that Isham added chips to Washington's bets. An investigation found more than 150 instances of cheating, resulting in a loss of more than $96,000.

"Casino cheaters do more than simply break the law – they are also stealing from the state and the citizens of Ohio," Matt Schuler, the commissioner's executive director, said in the release. "The Commission takes our mission to ensure the integrity of casino gaming seriously, and will continue to pursue legal action against those who cheat at Ohio's casinos – as well as any individuals who help enable cheating."

Rock Ohio Caesars, LLC owns the casino.

"We do not comment on pending litigation, however we take these matters very seriously," the company said in a statement. "Our security and surveillance teams work closely with the Ohio Casino Control Commission and local authorities to monitor gaming activity around the clock. Ensuring the integrity of our gaming operations is our top priority. "
