A Louisiana man has been sentenced to a year and a day in prison for making $100 counterfeit bills at a casino hotel.

U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley, in a news release, said 22-year-old Deldrick Fowler was sentenced on one count of counterfeiting obligations to the United States. He was also sentenced to three years of supervised release.

According to evidence presented at the April 30 guilty plea, the U.S. Secret Service used surveillance equipment to observe Fowler on Aug. 12, 2014 at the Isle of Capri Casino in Lake Charles, about 200 miles south of Shreveport, of producing the fake money in a hotel room. Agents seized two counterfeit $100 bills, 16 uncut sheets of $100 bills, and 10 uncut sheets of $100 bills printed on only one side.
