It just keeps going and going.

The Rivers Casino and Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County on Friday announced the casino's latest contribution to the Consol Energy Center: $3.1 million.

Since October 2009, the North Shore casino has been contributing $7.5 million annually to the SEA for construction expenses at the arena, which opened in 2010. The payments are made in two installments in April and October.

Rivers has generated $55.6 million to date and will have contributed $225 million by the time the agreement concludes in 2038, a press release from the casino said.

“Our annual contributions help ensure the Consol Energy Center remains a high-profile, leading entertainment venue in our city,” said Craig Clark, general manager of Rivers Casino in prepared remarks. “With pre-season underway, we're already looking forward to another exciting year with our 2016 Stanley Cup Champions.”
