HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) - - Casino owners and others with a stake in the gambling industry can now donate to state political campaigns. 

Stakeholders of the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, Lehigh County, and the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Southwestern Pennsylvania, fought the prohibition. 

It had been around since the state legalized commercial casinos in 2004.

A federal judge ruled that the contribution ban was drawn so broadly that it violated the Constitutional rights of those in the gambling industry.
