3 Reasons To Visit Borgata, Atlantic City's Best Casino Resort, This Fall

On the heels of a rollicking summer at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, which saw the resort celebrate its 15th birthday with a jam-packed lineup of world-class entertainment including Stevie Wonder, Britney Spears and Dave Chappelle (among many other boldface names), the seaside city’s premier destination shows no signs of slowing down this autumn.

Despite new competition from the recently opened Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City and Ocean Resort Casino, Borgata continues to attract throngs of well-heeled revelers, thanks in part to its long list of peerless performers and enduring polish (evidenced by unique touches like its dazzling collection of Dale Chihuly glass sculptures, worth some $5 million). Meanwhile, its stable of world-class restaurants—which includes Bobby Flay Steak (whose quality and consistency since its 2006 opening can’t be overstated) and Angeline, Michael Symon’s refined Italian eatery that’s the latest addition to Borgata’s culinary arsenal—keep discerning gourmets flocking to the resort.

These formidable foodie offerings will take center stage November 9-10 during Savor Borgata Weekend, which highlights Borgata's roster of celebrity chefs—Geoffrey Zakarian and Wolfgang Puck also among them—and wide variety of cuisine with a series of interactive and hands-on cooking experiences, ranging from a Japanese whisky BBQ to a pinot noir tasting.

Borgata will set the tone for the weekend’s food-focused fiesta with Savor Borgata Restaurant Week from November 4-9, featuring $39 three-course tasting menus at Angeline by Michael Symon, Wolfgang Puck American Grille, and Izakaya Modern Japanese Pub, as well as $65 three-course tasting menus at Bobby Flay Steak and Old Homestead Steak House. Tickets for all events may be purchased on Borgata's website or by calling 1.866.900.4TIX (4849). Hotel packages, starting from $279, are also available throughout the week.

This year has been a banner one for Borgata, even beyond its 15th birthday. On October 9, the resort, which is owned by MGM Resorts International, was named the 2018 "Property of the Year" by the Global Gaming Awards at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. The honor follows Borgata's history-making move last June, when it became the first Atlantic City casino to accept legal sports wagers under New Jersey's new sports betting law, after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in May struck down a federal ban on the practice. And in August, it capped this coup with the launch of the PlayMGM NJ Sports mobile application, aimed to bolster land-based sports betting at Borgata.
