With the holidays in full swing, one of the seasonal desserts that will make its way into homes is gingerbread.

And if you’re a fan of the sweet treat, you may want to make your way to one of two Southern California casinos.

Pechanga Resort and Casino

This year, Pechanga Resort and Casino made a few thousand gingerbread houses to sell during the holiday season, according to resort spokeswoman Ciara Green.

She said there aren’t many left and they will likely be sold out by Dec. 19. Each of the houses is unique with different candies, icing and gingerbread. They sell for $45 at Blends Coffee & Wine Bar just inside the Pechanga hotel lobby.

Green said first time Pechanga is selling DIY kits and there are more of those.

The kits, also for sale at Blends, come with sealed piping bags of white, green and red icing; sprinkles; and hard and gummy candies.

The kits create the same size structures as the pre-made ones, and are available for $35.

If you find yourself in awe of baking shows that craft gigantic cakes and baked goods, you may want to head to Pala Casino, Spa and Resort to see its large gingerbread house display.

The castle-like structure, whipped up by Choices the Buffet Chef Eber Morales and his team, fills up an entire table in front of the buffet and comes complete with multiple towers, winding stair cases, a bridge and snow-covered roofing. Casino spokesman Jack Taylor said the display will remain in front of the buffet through the holidays.
