We’re back for the first Thursday Casino Insider in a while! We’re hoping this is the beginning of so much news you’ll see us every week like in the Before Times, but with things changing quickly there’s always the possibility that we may have to go back into hibernation.

Tribal casinos have begun to announce reopening plans, with Pechanga Resort Casino targeting June 1 and two San Diego County casinos planning to reopen next week.

Pechanga is first casino in Riverside County to announce a reopening plan, with a target date of June 1, but expect things to be different when guests can return.

The number of available machines and table game positions will be reduced; people will likely be required to wear masks; and restaurants will not be filled to capacity. Vanessa Franko has more.

Beyond Southern California 

MGM Resorts, when it does reopen its properties, will reopen them with only 25 percent of the hotel rooms available, according to this Las Vegas Sun article. Though casinos in Las Vegas have not yet been given the green light to reopen, MGM’s CEO said he expects they will be able to in the next few weeks.
