Lights, music, slots! Newburgh’s new Resorts World Casino promises over 1,000 machines as well as new jobs and public funding.

Ready to have a little fun close to home? Resorts World Hudson Valley is coming to the Newburgh Mall! Taking the place of the recently closed BonTon department store, this arcade for adults is sure to be bright and exciting.

Two football fields worth of slot machines, craps tables, and lounge space will be available for weekend plans with friends. Oh, and a 360-degree bar—more on that in a moment. The gaming and entertainment hub will be open 20 hours a day, with classic blackjack, craps, roulette, and an impressive number of machines.

When you need a break from the action, an orange-and-blue carpet welcomes you to the full bar and lounge with eight televisions screening all your favorite sporting events. The large entrance hall leads you right to the center of the action, with sunset-colored lanterns illuminating the space for good beer and good times with your posse. The bar, officially dubbed “Resorts WorldBET Sports Bar,” will be a social hub for locals to meet up with friends after work or catch up on the weekend. Resorts World promises an unmatched luxury entertainment experience for all its guests, and we’re so ready to see the experience come to Newburgh.

Casino Promises New Jobs, Funding for Newburgh

While a specific opening date hasn’t yet been announced due to supply chain delays, Resorts World Casino promises many opportunities for community growth when it opens this fall. “When Resorts World first approached me nearly two years ago seeking support for a proposal to bring a gaming center to Orange County, I made my priorities clear to them: jobs, revitalizing a blight, and local community benefits. This project does all three,” says Senator James Skoufis.

The casino’s operation will create 200 full-time jobs, a majority being union employees with an average annual wage of about $72,000—not to mention the additional 200 workers involved in the casino’s construction. What’s more, an estimated $65 million annually will be given to the New York Lottery Education Fund to bolster public schools. Finally, $3 million per year will go to the Town of Newburgh, benefiting the Newburgh Public Safety Fund and community projects.

“We are elated at the opportunity to help revitalize the Newburgh Mall, create good-paying union jobs for local residents, and generate significant revenue for New York State’s public schools,” says Bob DeSalvio, President of Genting Americas East, the company that owns the Resorts World chain. Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus echoes this sentiment, saying, “It is an investment in jobs, in growth and in the future of Orange County, and it will have an immediate—and positive—impact at a time when we need it the most.”
